For this Top 10 list, we've tallied up the annual mean wages for the highest-paying jobs in the U.S. workforce as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in May 2016 (the most recent figures available). However, we should note that we made a slight change. Most of the highest-paying jobs in the U.S. are in the medical field, so we've grouped doctors and surgeons together to avoid this list becoming "10 reasons why you should've studied more in high school science and gone to med school."
